4. Coulson, Andrew J. "An 'invisible hand' up". Philanthropy (July-August 2007) p. 14-6.
Abstract: Details the creation of the Orient Global Education Fund, a $100 million fund created in the wake of University of Newcastle professor James Tooley’s research on education in third world countries. Tooley discovered a surprising number of fee-charging private schools operating in third world slums, whose students performed noticeably better than public school students in subjects such as math and English. The fund’s goal is to invest in private schools that will both ensure a quality education for poor third world children and provide returns that will finance future projects.
