Abstract: Analyzes the results of the author's informal survey of performance measures within universities' corporate and foundation relations (CFR) departments. The survey finds that the information tracked by CFR staff, such as phone calls and visits with funders, typically does not correlate with the factors that CFR staff rate as most important in successful solicitations, such as the quality of the proposal.
